With the 2 Day Tour we stay at Falkland (Inverness in Outlander).
We can even book if available the same accommodation that was used when Claire & Frank stayed in Inverness.
Our tour begins like Clare’s adventure with touching a standing stone to step back in time. Discover Lundin Links Standing Stones in Lundin Links, "The stones used in Outlander are made of foam and do not exist"
Hopetoun House is a large stately home in Hopetoun, near Edinburgh. It has been a generous location, providing scenery for seasons 1, 2 and 3. Fans of Sam Heughan may also be aware that it has appeared in photographs used to promote Barbour.
Located on the wider Hopetoun Estate is Midhope Castle which is the location for fictional Lallybroch, the family home of character Jamie Fraser. Midhope Castle dates back to the 15th Century and although the exterior is relatively intact the castle is derelict inside.
Located not far from the village of Blackness, Scotland, Blackness Castle is an impressive 15th-century fortress. It was used in Outlander to represent Fort William, where Jamie had received lashes from Captain Randall. It is also where Jamie's father died, having to endure watching his son being punished.
Culross is the base for the fictional village of Cranesmuir, the village close to Castle Leoch. The Mercat Cross square, the Study House, the gardens of the palace and the West Kirk outside the village were all used for outlander filming locations.
Mrs. Baird's B & B in Falkland where Claire & Frank stayed during their second honeymoon. If not available near by accommodation will be provided but we can still have our dinner and some drinks there (Dinner & Drinks not included)
Falkland, a small town in Fife, Scotland, was used to portray the city of Inverness. Claire and Frank arrive there on their second honeymoon. While there they meet Mrs Baird, the somewhat mysterious owner of their bed and breakfast, as well as the local minister, Reverend Wakefield.
You’ll recognise this location from season 1 episode 5, “Rent”. Claire and Jamie visited here accompanied by Dougal and co. when they were sent by Colum to collect taxes for Clan Mackenzie. Buildings that you may remember include the authentically built (using 18th century methods) and furnished homes, the buildings where Claire helps the village women to dye cloth with urine, and the blacksmiths shop.
Appearing in many season 1 episodes of Outlander, Doune Castle is used as Castle Leoch, the seat of Clan Mackenzie. ... Originally built in the 13th century, Doune Castle suffered much damage in the Wars of Independence. It was later rebuilt in its current form in the 14th century.
Located in Perthshire, on the banks of the River Teith and near Doune Castle, Deanston Distillery appeared in episode 2.02 “Not in Scotland Anymore”. It provided the setting for the wine warehouse owned by Jared at the port of Le Havre.
Let us know if you would like the 1 Day Tour or the 2 Day Tour with overnight stay at Mrs. Baird's B & B in Falkland where Claire & Frank stayed during their second honeymoon.
Check the weather before you come as in Scotland we can have 4 seasons in the 1 day.
